We’re seeking a Technical Recruiter – Independent Contractor to help us attract and hire top talent across Canada. You’ll be supporting a small People & Culture team dedicated to creating a positive, people-first experience for employees and candidates. In this contract role, you’ll play a key part in scaling our engineering, product, and technical project management teams, focusing on roles such as Full Stack Software Engineers and Machine Learning/AI Engineers. You’ll work closely with hiring managers and our People & Culture team to manage full cycle recruitment from sourcing and screening to coordinating interviews and delivering high quality candidate experience. The time commitment for this position will fluctuate based on our hiring requirements with a maximum of 20 hours per week, and there may be slow down periods. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering leadership to understand current and upcoming hiring needs 
  • Proactively source and engage candidates through LinkedIn, GitHub, and other relevant platforms 
  • Conduct initial screens to assess technical fit and cultural alignment 
  • Manage and maintain candidate pipelines in our applicant tracking system  
  • Schedule interviews and provide regular updates to stakeholders 
  • Deliver a strong candidate experience that reflects our organizational values 
  • Help shape sourcing strategies for niche technical roles 
  • Stay up to date on employment standards relevant to hiring across Canada 

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in technical recruiting, particularly for engineering teams 
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian tech talent market 
  • Experience filling roles such as Full Stack engineers or other technical positions 
  • Skilled in direct sourcing using tools like LinkedIn Recruiter or any other sourcing platforms 
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, fully remote environment 
  • Familiarity with Canadian labor laws and recruitment best practices 
  • Experience recruiting in the healthtech, medtech, or life sciences sectors is an asset 
  • Familiarity with inclusive and equitable hiring practices

Compensation 

$28-$32/hr CAD + placement bonus
