Valeris is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Lead to oversee our IT vendor relationships, demand management, and enterprise procurement activities. Reporting to the CFO but working collaboratively across many departments, especially IT, this role plays a critical part in managing the procurement lifecycle, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, performance management, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IT procurement and a strong background in managing vendor relationships and RFP processes across various categories.

Responsibilities

IT Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for certain IT vendor relationships, including outsourced developers, programs and other onshore and offshore consultants.
  • Develop and implement vendor governance frameworks, including KPIs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with vendors to assess performance, innovation opportunities, and risk exposure.
  • Oversee contract renewals, amendments, and negotiations to ensure favorable terms, compliance, and business value.

 

Demand Management

  • Partner with IT leadership to anticipate, analyze, and validate IT demand across business units.
  • Coordinate procurement planning processes to align demand forecasts with budget and strategic priorities.
  • Analyze spending trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, rationalization, and process improvements.
  • Establish strong collaboration with finance, IT, transformation and operations teams to optimize sourcing strategies.
  • Procurement & Sourcing
  • Provide a roadmap and strategy for driving out cost savings with prioritization that is aligned to the organization needs.
  • Prepare financial business cases for potential decisions on future vendor options
  • Lead and manage sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs for IT and non-IT categories.
  • Drive competitive bidding processes, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop category strategies and procurement plans that align with operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Manage contract lifecycles, from initial negotiations to execution and renewal.
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess supplier risks, including financial stability, cybersecurity risks, and business continuity.
  • Implement supplier due diligence processes and mitigate risks through appropriate contract provisions.
  • Ensure we have the right governance in place on vendor and contract approvals (including signing authority)

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing procurement and vendor management expertise.
  • Facilitate collaboration between IT, finance, transformation, legal, and business units to drive sourcing outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tracking of value created vs budget and a scorecard to be shared with the EC and the Board.
  • Educate internal teams on procurement best practices and supplier relationship management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the business and Board as needed.
  • Partners with cross-functional business leaders, providing valuable insights and driving data-driven decision making that drives value creation
  • Support the Integration Management Office as needed in synergy tracking

Qualifications

  • 7+ plus years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years focused on IT sourcing and vendor management
  • Experience working in a private equity portfolio company environment
  • Proven ability to learn a business quickly at a detailed level
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred)  from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated success leading RFP processes, contract negotiations, and supplier performance programs. 
  • Knowledge in particular of IT Procurement Vendor negotiations
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time
  • Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, SAP) and vendor management tools.
  • Strong MS Office suite, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills (advanced Excel skills required)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Dynamic personality with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new and changing environments
  • Independent and action driven with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to comprehend and process large amounts of data and summarize into digestible format
  • Proven ability to set clear objectives and drive change in an organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Logical, efficient, and creative, with keen attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
